Between the 7th and 9th of September 2021, the Joint CBRN Defence Centre of Excellence (COE) conducted the first residential course of 2021. The pilot CBRN Warning and Reporting Centre Management course was conducted in close cooperation with Bruhn NewTech representatives.
The aim of this training was to train CBRN Centre staff who need to create input to NATO’s CBRN Warning & Reporting system and further need to understand organization management.
Theoretical lessons and group work was conducted by 13 participants from 7 countries (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Italy, Poland, and Sweden). Within the syllabus, students had an opportunity to work in groups, practicing Centre management duties within two scenarios. One was focused on Article 5 operations, whilst the second concentrated on non-Article 5 operations. All participants appreciated the opportunity to share experiences and ideas with colleagues from a range of nations and command levels.
Bruhn NewTech representatives Mr. Erik Schmidt Nielsen and Mr. Henning Christensen van Brussel provided the theoretical lectures and group work. They also presented course handouts, mentored students, and facilitated throughout the CBRN Warning and Reporting System course.
Student feedback reflected the course’s usefulness in adding value to both their current assignments and career development.
