Under the STO, this outstanding tradition of rewarding the best of the best continues across the boader scope of the STO´s technological mandate. Candidates, proposed by the various STO elements, must have made significant contributions to activities sponsored by the organization during the preceding four years.

Read more: JCBRN Defence COE visits the European Centre for Manual Neutralisation Capabilities in Vienna /AUT From the 31st October to the 1st November 2018 a delegation of the JCBRN Defence COE visited the multinational European Centre for MAnual Neutralisation Capabilities (ECMAN) in Vienna /AUT. It was headed by the Director of the JCBRN Defence COE, COL (GS) Vratislav OSVALD. He was accompanied by the Deputy Director COL Wolfgang REICH and the Department Directors of the Training Exercise and Education Department (TEED) and the Transformation Support Department (TSD). The visit was based on an official invitation, arranged by the Austrian Senior National Representative at the JCBRN Defence COE. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Director of ECMAN, LTC Jürgen PIROLT (AUT-A).

Read more: 4th International CBRNe Workshop “Countering Radiological and Nuclear Threats” The Italian University of Rome “Tor Vergata” conducted its 4th International CBRNe Workshop focused on “Countering Radiological and Nuclear Threats”. The workshop took place at the Istituto Superiore Anticendi (National Fire Academy) in Rome on 8th November 2018. Just a preliminary remark: The “e” in “CBRNe” abbreviates “explosives” (Improvised Explosive Devices). However, “CBRNe” is not a NATO recognized abbreviation. Objectives of the workshop were to give a detailed overview of the current CBRNe risk scenarios whilst centering on radiological and nuclear scenarios.
