        The Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Centre of Excellence (JCBRN Defence COE) hosted an international conference focusing on ,,CBRNE Aspects in DAT.” The event was conducted from 12 -14 October 2010 in Hotel International Brno, Czech Republic. The Conference was organized under the umbrella of the NATO DAT Programme of Work.  

      The meeting was aimed to meet its fundamental objective to share information and experience in possible CBRN assets used by radicals and technological progress in protection against CBRN substances.

         The JCBRN Defence COE Steering Committee was held for 9th time in Vyškov, Czech Republic on 21 - 22 September 2010. The JCBRN Defence COE Director Zdenek CIZEK welcomed all present SC members and representatives from IMS, SHAPE, EDA, WMD Non-proliferation and US EUCOM. In his opening address he pointed out the new generation of international staff who have arrived this year and successfully the work and projects of their predecessors.

       On 10 September 2010, the Polish delegation led by Brigadier General Marek Witczak visited the JCBRN Defence COE.  He was welcome by the Director, COL Zdenek Cizek.

     The reason of the visit was to meet COE staff and to be better informed on how to establish a newly developing COE. This COE should support the transformation process in NATO, within the area of the Military Police.

      On Wednesday 2 September 2010, the Austrian delegation lead by Chief of Defence Staff of the Austrian Armed Forces, General Edmund Entacher visited the JCBRN Defence COE. The Austrian delegation, accompanied by the Czech Chief of Staff of Czech Armed Forces, General Vlastimil Picek, were welcomed by the COE Director, Colonel Zdenek Cizek.

      On Wednesday 28 August 2010, the delegation of the Headquarters State Fire Service Warsaw and the Central School of State Service Czestochova visited the JCBRN Defence COE.  

     TEED Director, Col Lubomír Kubart, welcomed the delegation. In his opening address, he highlighted the importance of the civil/military cooperation in the area of CBRN defence and mentioned that this specific area is one of NATO’s priorities. LTC Ivan Križka gave a presentation on current the COE structure, COE missions and ongoing projects; this was followed by LTC Rudolf Konár’s presentation on the  cooperation with CEPC and our joint project ‘The Train the Trainers Course’ of the International CBRN Training Curriculum for First Responders. The delegation was also briefed on Modeling and Simulation Capabilities, which are developed at the COE as a bilateral project between the Czech Republic and the United States. The visit culminated with the Polish delegation visiting the Field Live Agent Training Facility in Kamenná Chaloupka.
