     The JCBRN Defence COE was offered by NATO to support partners from the Mediterranean Dialogue (MD) through the Science for Peace and Security Programme. The SPS Programme funds collaborative activities on topics that are relevant to NATO’s strategic objectives. Support is given for multi-year projects, technical workshops and training courses.

     “The Science for Peace and Security Programme, or SPS, is a policy tool for enhancing cooperation and dialogue with all partners, based on civil science and innovation, to contribute to the Alliance’s core goals and to address the priority areas for dialogue and cooperation identified in the new partnership policy.”

The JCBRN Defence COE made decision to develop and to offer course related to CBRN First Responders in behalf of three nations from MD (Kingdom of Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia). It was warmly welcomed and agreed from side of NATO and JCBRN Defence COE was given with appropriate budged to organize this course under the auspices of NATO SPS Programme.

     The JCBRN Defence COE conducted CBRN First Responders Course in the period from 17th to 21st June 2013. 17 participants from Kingdom of Jordan (7 participants), Egypt (7 participants) and Saudi Arabia (3 paticipants) arrived at JCBRN Defence COE to enhance their knowledge in the area of first responders tasks. The Course was designed to provide an overview and to highlited difficulties related to first responders work and training in international environment. Lecturers from various countries were invated at the JCBRN Defence COE to provide their high quality theoretical lessons. As an essetial part of the course, a practical training must be considered. This practical training was organized in cooperation with Military Academy at Vyškov, 31st brigade of CBRN protection in Liberec and Population Protection Instiutute located in Lázně Bohdaneč. All three participating institutes took this opportunity on very profesional level and they did a great piece of deal to increase quality of this course.

     The course as itself was considered by participants as very sucessful and highly valuable for their future activities related to first responders and all of them claimed recommendation for the others to participate on this course.

     As was mentioned above many times, this course was a great chalange for the JCBRN Defence COE. Thanks to active attitude of all involved organizators was sucessfully realized and finished to show JCBRN Defence COE capabilities on a field of first responders related to CBRN incidents. We can proudly stated that JCBRN Defence COE performed great job and proved its quality to contribute to NATO as very qualified partner.
