The Canadian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ayesha Patricia Rekhi visited the Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Centre of Excellence (JCBRN Defence COE) on 30 January 2020. The visit was hosted by the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Jaromír Zuna, and the outgoing and incoming JCBRN Defence COE Directors, Colonel Vratislav Osvald and Colonel David Martínek.

The aim of the visit was to gain awareness of and an overview about the COE and its mission, tasks and structure. The Ambassador’s programme included a command brief, and two presentations on the Operation Support Department’s CBRN Reachback and Modelling & Simulation capabilities and operational support to NATO.

In the end, the Canadian Ambassador to the Czech Republic appreciated the COE’s efforts in the field of CBRN defence and emphasized the importance of Canada officially joining to the COE on 14 December 2018, becoming a member of this great organization.
