The JCBRN Defence COE hosted a Stocktaking MC 0603/1 Workshop from 5 December to 6 December 2017.

The workshop, which was organized and lead by the Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Capability Development Group (JCBRND-CDG), was attended by 19 participants from Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy and The United Kingdom. The workshop was also attended by representatives from different NATO bodies such as NATO HQ’s Arms Control, Disarmament, and WMD Non-proliferation Centre (ACDC), Allied Command Transformation (ACT), Allied Command Operation (ACO), Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) and, of course, the JCBRN Defence COE as hosting organisation.

The CELULEX 17 was a national Portuguese Army (PRT-A) training exercise, scheduled by the Portuguese Army Chief of Staff and conducted by the Land Forces Command (LFC).
This exercise was focused on planning and conducting CBRN missions in a civil-emergency environment at a tactical level with aim to develop and enlarge common co-operation among military and civil emergency system (police, firefighters, medical emergency teams) to develop and integrate CBRN Task Force (TF) operational CBR defense capabilities into civil emergency system, improve system of collaboration, evaluate national CBRN Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) for CBRN TF sub teams.

From 24 to 27 April, the CBRNe Summit Europe 2017, chaired by the President of the Observatory on Security and CBRNe Defence (OSDIFE), Professor Roberto Mugavero, has taken place in Madrid. This summit has been the sixth in a series, which had been initiated in 2014 by OSDIFE and the Joint CBRN Defence Centre of Excellence as founding fathers. Former summits have already taken place in Brno (CZE), Roma (ITA), Singapore (SGP), Paris (FRA) and Hà Nội (VNM).
