On 15th May 2014, Colonel Fausto Vignola, the Director of the Stability Policing Centre of Excellence (NATO SP COE) in Vicenza, Italy, visited the JCBRN Defence COE. The main aim of the visit was to share our experience with the COE development, given that NATO SP COE is still under development and is expected to be fully operational in the first months of 2015.

Brigadier General Matthew L. Brand, Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Policy, Headquarters Supreme Allied Command Transformation of NATO visited the JCBRN Defence COE.

On 13th May 2014 the, Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Policy, Headquarters Supreme Allied Command Transformation of NATO and his military assistant Commander Stephan Annighoefer visited the JCBRN Defence Centre of Excellence (COE). Brigadier General Brand is the SACT flag officer champion of the JCBRN Defence COE and this was his first visit to the COE.

On 8 – 9 April 2014 the 16th JCBRN Defence COE Steering Committee Meeting took place in Vyškov with participation of the Sponsoring Nations representatives from Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and United States of America. Representatives of ACT and SHAPE and a representative from the Netherlands also participated at the meeting in an observer role.

Read more: JCBRN Defence COE members participated in the CBRNe Summit 2014The CBRNe Summit 2014 organized by Intelligence-Sec’s took place in Brno from 26th to 28th March 2014. This year’s goal was to discuss latest threats and efficient ways of detecting threats before an attack occurs. Presenters participating on this event were the industry leaders from the public and private sector as well as senior national government officials, EU, UN, WHO and NATO representatives. 
The JCBRN Defence Centre of Excellence has supported this international event by providing assistance in shaping the agenda in order to make sure, that the attendees gather information about all key-topics within the CBRN Domain from the leading CBRNe-experts in the region.
The Director COL Jiri GAJDOS and the Deputy Director COL Rainer SCHULTE of the JCBRN Defence COE actively spoke at the Summit about the Joint CBRN Defence COE’s role on how to better and more effectively combat CBRNe-threats and according to this the role of the Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) as a service provider.
